Kim Kardashian Shines Bright in “Delicate”: A New Spin on “American Horror Story”

In the enthralling world of “American Horror Story,” the 12th season titled “Delicate” has served a refreshing shocker to the audience, courtesy of Kim Kardashian’s bold foray into scripted television. The FX series, masterminded by the acclaimed duo Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, has taken inspiration from Danielle Valentine’s novel “Delicate Condition,” which resonates as a contemporary nod to “Rosemary’s Baby.”

This season unravels the story of Anna, masterfully portrayed by Emma Roberts. As the plot thickens, Anna becomes ensnared in a web of mystery, convinced that unseen forces are conspiring against her hopes of motherhood. The inaugural episode, “Multiply Thy Pain,” directed by the talented Jessica Yu, introduces us not only to Anna but also to significant characters in her life, including her husband Dexter (Matt Czuchry) and the highlight of the season, her outspoken publicist Siobhan, brought to life by Kardashian.

Kardashian’s performance has undoubtedly been a lightning rod this season. Her audacious debut, marked by the memorable line “Tell [them] to suck my cl*t,” has sparked much chatter and piqued interest. Critics suggest that her authentic portrayal provides the series with a much-needed touch of uninhibited, campy entertainment. The character of Siobhan emerges not just as a sassy publicist but as a layered personality with a backstory that intertwines with Anna’s, promising viewers a roller-coaster of emotions.

Despite being known for her reality star status, Kardashian seems to effortlessly channel the entertainment industry’s spirit, even drawing parallels with her iconic mother, Kris Jenner. Although her acting might lean more towards entertainment than critically acclaimed, her presence is reminiscent of past “American Horror Story” icons like Jessica Lange and Lady Gaga, breathing life into the series’ campy essence.

However, the season isn’t without its controversies, as actress Angelica Ross brought to light a grievance from 2019 involving co-star Emma Roberts. The show’s format is also taking an intriguing turn, bifurcating into two parts. The first segment wraps up in October, leaving fans in anticipation for the latter half, scheduled for a 2024 release.
